6 Aug: Pisa

Who can go to Tuscany without going to Pisa and take a picture of ourselves supporting the leaning tower? Not us! So, here we go!


Being a Sunday, Pisa is super quiet. All the shops are closed sans a few eatery. Very peaceful and quiet.

The little white church on the right is called 'Church of the Torn' if I remembered correctly. It is fabled to house a single torn from Jesus' Crown of Thorns. Like I care. I don't think Jesus would like to be reminded of that crown when he comes back. Which reminds me of a joke made by the comedian Bill Hicks. He said the reason why Jesus has not returned cause he don't like to be reminded of the cross and his followers are still wearing it. He said its kinda like wearing a sniper cross-hair pendent and showing to JFK's wife.

This picture is taken by balancing the camera on a little box on the traffic light. Its a bright and glorious day indeed!


This is where we had our lunch. I ordered rabbit meat out of curiosity much to the protest of Shuyi who believe that rabbits are too cute to be eaten. I've have none of that blasphemy! I'll eat whatever is nice be it cute of fugly. But she was right on this one. The rabbit sure tasted like it don't want to be eaten. Maybe the shitty restaurant did not do it justice. We were served by this man-whore who gave us one the worst attitude we encountered for the trip. But he is literally holding the balls of the rich Japanese tourist at the next table. Slut.

Shuyi was feeling under the weather so we found a little alley and she took a nap. With Shuyi stuck to my shoulder, all I can do is to take pictures of the alley.

While the town was almost deserted, the area around Camo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracle) was anything but.




Shuyi was really feeling down and pale. But since we soldiered on to at least see the tower before heading back to Florence. She even managed to pose for the traditional 'support the tower' picture.

At the field, there is a whole shitload of boy scouts. During our trip, we saw a lot of these scout groups on summer vacation. How we know they are scouts? They are clad in that ridiculous uniform lor.


Shuyi is really looking like she is gonna die so we went back to Florence. You have to validate the ticket before boarding. Their train system is really slack. There is no need to adhere to the timing of the ticket, there are some trips where no one came to check our tickets (meaning you can just hop on and off without paying).

Back in Florence, we found an internet cafe and transfered our pictures to my mp3 player for storage. Them Italians have their own keyboard where the normal symbols are in funny places. Damn irritating. And a 'new folder' is called 'nuova cartella'. We brought dinner from ma homie the TurkeyMan and went back to our hotel.
